Only other thing I tried was changing some of the default drums/cymbals using the drop downs and the sounds do change so I'm definitely hearing SD sounds being triggered vs. Plus, the sound completely drops after a few minutes. This would never work in a live situation. A little less robotic sounding, but the latency and slight lack of sensitivity killed it. Have not played with bleed settings, etc., but I was expecting the stock sounds to be huge improvement over the TD-8, which they are not. Yes, Full Install on a fast Lenovo laptop with 4GB RAM with a clean install of Win 7 (No AV or other garbage installed to get in the way). Have you tried to emphasize the room sounds by favoring the room (OH, AMB) mikes over the close mikes (not absolutely necessary, I just reckon Avatar sounds better that way)?Buffer size is 256, I also tried 512, but it made no difference. What's your buffer size (under Options/Audio/Latency Settings. ![]() I'm probably going to return all this nonsense and get the new Yamaha DTK900 after all. I guess you gotta take calculated risks to break ahead, but this was a major FAIL. This is all on a squeaky clean Windows 7 install with 4GB of RAM. ![]() Also, the audio randomly drops out completely requiring a reboot to resolve. It just doesn't sound much different and there's an ever so slight noticeable lag (latency), which would make this a real PITA in a live situation. I've spent some serious hours/dollars researching, configuring and setting this up all for basically the same sound I'm already getting from my 10 year old TD-8? So it finally decided to start working and I can't tell you how disappointed I am.
